We had an incredible time at the Chesterfield Fire Training Center for our latest educational sessions! Thank you to everyone who joined us for these insightful presentations, led by the highly respected John Denhardt, P.E., ET, CWBSP, FSFPE.
About the Instructor:
John Denhardt is the vice president of engineering & technical services for the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) and a leading expert in fire protection engineering. A registered professional engineer (P.E.) across multiple states, Denhardt holds NICET Level III certifications in both water-based systems layout and inspection/testing of water-based systems. He is also a certified water-based system professional through NFPA and serves on numerous prestigious boards and committees in the fire protection field, including the NFPA 13 technical committee and the SFPE Board of Directors.
Sessions Overview:
– Sprinkler System Hydraulics (4 hours): A comprehensive deep dive into hydraulic principles, friction loss, the Hazen-Williams Formula, and practical applications for sprinkler systems.
– NFPA 25 Roles and Responsibilities (2 hours): Clarified the roles of property owners, AHJs, and service providers, with a special focus on inspector duties and Chapter 4 responsibilities.
– Updates to NFPA 25 (2020 & 2023 Editions): Covered key revisions in the latest NFPA 25 standards, with insights from the technical committee’s discussions.
Professional Development:
Attendees earned 1.0 NICET-CPD credit and 1.0 VA Inspector re-certification credit per hour of instruction.
