2023 AFSA VIRGINIA CHAPTER-BURN SURVIVORS FOUNDATION EVENTS
The AFSA Virginia Chapter/Burn Survivors Foundation will host its 30th annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday October 11, 2023, at the Williamsburg National Golf Club. This will be an incredibly special event marking the 30th anniversary of our first golf tournament held in 1993!
The AFSA Virginia Chapter/Burn Survivors Foundation supports the Central Virginia Burn Camp for Children ages 7 to 17 and the Old Dominion Firefighters Burn Foundation, which supports the Evans-Hayes Burn Center at VCU/MCV Hospital.
The Golf Committee has planned two days of Events of celebration for this important milestone.
We encourage everyone in the fire protection industry to bring their spouse/significant other to come celebrate with us.

1. AFSA VIRGINIA CHAPTER BOARD MEETING AND BURN SURVIVORS FOUNDATION BOARD MEETING
AFSA BOARD MEETING 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
BURN SURVIVORS FOUNDATION BOARD MEETING 11:30 AM TO 12:00 NOON
The AFSA Virginia Chapter Board and Officers will meet in the Board Room of the Double Tree Williamsburg hotel in Williamsburg, Virginia for its October scheduled meeting.
2. AFSA VIRGINIA CHAPTER LUNCHEON
12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM
The AFSA Virginia Chapter members will have a luncheon also held at the Double Tree Williamsburg.
Lunch is $25.00 per person paid at the meeting.
3. AFSA VIRGINIA CHAPTER REGULAR MEETING
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
The AFSA Virginia Chapter will hold its Regular meeting following the luncheon with the following agenda:
Welcoming and Chapter news by Bob Beckwith, President
The Program will be Kevin Hall of National AFSA discussing Seismic concerns.
The Vendor Program by given by Josh Shapiro on Reliable Automatic Sprinkler

4. BURN SURVIVORS FOUNDATION WINE-BEER TASTING FUNCTION
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The Burn Survivors Foundation will host a Wine-Beer tasting function for all registered golfers and their guests at the Pitchers Taphouse Lounge at the Double Tree.
This a free function for all Registered Golfers/spouses and all Golf Committee members
5. BURN SURVIVORS FOUNDATION RECEPTION, DINNER, AND CASINO NIGHT
6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
The Reception will take place from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM with the Dinner & Casino Night to follow from 7:00 PM-11:00 PM. Actual location of this function within the hotel will be posted within the Double Tree
The Dress for this Dinner/Casino night is Business Casual.
This is a free function for all Registered Golfers/spouses and all Golf Committee members.
Everyone will receive name tags, $50,000.00 in funny money for casino chips and two drink tickets per person at the door.
The drink tickets are good for Beer or Wine and two will be good for a mixed drink. The bar is a cash bar after you have used your drink tickets.
Dinner will be a three entrée Buffet, with salad, several sides, desert, water, tea, and coffee.
Our Keynote speaker is a past law enforcement officer and Burn Survivor from Phoenix Arizona, who is a nationally recognized motivational speaker. Katie Llewellin with the Central Virginia Burn Camp will also speak following the dinner on her experiences as a Burn Survivor.
Casino night will include Three-card Poker, Texas Hold ‘Em, Blackjack, Craps and Roulette.
Professional Dealers will host and teach.
A Prize will be awarded to the top Casino night chip count holder at the Golf Tournament on Wednesday.

10:45 AM to 12:00 PM Lunch for Golfers
12:30 PM Announcements and Tee off
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Dinner
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Awards Ceremony
Lunch & Dinner catered by O’Toole’s Restaurant & Pub
Golf, lunch, and dinner are paid for in the Golfer fee for the Golfer.
The dinner is free for Spouses/significant others or Registered Golfers and designated volunteers.

2. SPOUSAL/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS EVENT
During the Golf Tournament the AFSA Virginia Chapter-Burn Survivors Foundation will offer a Luncheon at one of the Williamsburg Taverns (TBA), a guided Tour of Jamestown with lunch included in Colonial Williamsburg.
11:00 AM travel to Jamestown from the Double Tree
11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Lunch (TBD)
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Guided Tour of Jamestown
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Visit Colonial Williamsburg
4:00 PM to 4:30 PM travel to Williamsburg National Golf Club
A free Bus will run from the Double Tree Hotel to Jamestown.
Lunch is included.
After lunch, the guide will provide a tour.
A bus will then run from a designated spot back to the Williamsburg National Golf Club for Dinner and the Awards ceremony.
This event is free for Spouses/significant others of Registered Golfers.
